Please Come Back

Please come back.

What do you hear in your heart as you read those words?  There isn’t much I can say to get you back to church if you don’t feel the need for it where it matters – deep down inside of you.   But I say it anyway.  Please come back.

We are waiting for you, and we’re not the same without you, because you are a part of us and we miss you.  I am extending this invitation to you  on behalf of every Catholic in the pew each week.  Come back to Mass and come back to the sacraments.

If you read my last blog post “An Extravagant Love” ( you know that our son David was just ordained a deacon…in Rome….at the Chair of St. Peter in St. Peter’s Basilica.  Pretty awesome stuff, and yes, I’m still flying …just a little.  My heart was moved by the beauty of the sacrament.   What will move your heart and draw you closer to God?  There are experiences waiting for you: will you come back and find them?

There is so much information  available about the Catholic faith.  Churches  have tons of classes and resources for you.  Ask.   Talk to someone who is knowledgeable!   Most churches have a faith formation office that will help.   Seek out a priest or spiritual director who will listen to your story.  Please come back.

Here are some interesting websites, and of course, visit often at  My Lovely Faith!

In hope,
